USA - NEVADA - LAS VEGAS : MUCH MORE THAN JUST CASINOS  Images of the Rat Pack, showgirls in elaborate headdresses and Elvis impersonators are inextricably associated with Las Vegas' legendary entertainment. Today, Las Vegas' entertainment scene still has plenty of its classic glamour, but it has evolved to include so much more. In addition to the iconic Las Vegas entertainment staples, the destination offers a lineup of award-winning magicians, Broadway-caliber productions, world-renowned concert headliners and unique-to-Las Vegas production shows. From thrilling roller coasters to virtual-reality simulator rides, from erupting volcanoes to wax museums, Las Vegas' attractions appeal to people of all ages and interests. But first and foremost, Las Vegas is still considered THE gaming Mecca. It's no secret that Nevada law permits a wide variety of gaming, including traditional card and dice games, race and sports books, slot machines, cashless slot machines, high-tech electronic gambling devices and international games of chance. Las Vegas resorts offer an electronic version of virtually every type of casino game. If you want to tie the knot, Las Vegas offers you the ultimate freedom of choice, ranging from Elvis presiding over a 24-hour drive-through chapel to a lavish soirée at one of the world's premier resorts, from a breathtaking outdoor ceremony at Mt. Charleston to a traditional ceremony in a church packed with guests. With more than 120,000 marriage licenses issued annually, Las Vegas is recognized as the world's wedding capital. Shopping continues to be a popular activity for travelers, and Las Vegas is no exception. Las Vegas has become home to numerous unique shopping venues. Everything from colorful souvenir shops to haute couture boutiques can be found in retail centers along the Las Vegas Strip and surrounding areas. And Las Vegas has made transport easy. Think beyond rental cars and shuttles. Although the Las Vegas Strip is approximately 4.5 miles long, visitors can still cruise in style, whether it's aboard the Las Vegas Monorail that runs along the eastside of the Strip or via The Deuce, the city's double decker buses, or even Pink Jeeps on outdoor excursions. Las Vegas is no longer golf's best-kept secret. From exquisite championship courses designed by legends of the sport to lush fairways and breathtaking views, more than 60 golf courses are available in Las Vegas throughout the year thanks to the area's inviting climate. Las Vegas may not be known for its "destination spas," but with more than 30 luxury spas offered as amenities inside its famed resorts, the Entertainment Capital of the World is a favorite retreat for relaxation and rejuvenation.
