USA - MASSACHUSETTS - BOSTON: THE RED BRICK LINE ALONG THE FREEDOM TRAIL

Boston is not only one of America’s oldest cities, with a rich economic and social history and now the economic and cultural hub of New England ..... it is also a city attracting millions of visitors drawn by its historic neighborhoods, its cultural and sporting events.

And there is no better way for visitors to explore Boston's rich history than the red brick line along the Freedom Trail. Spirited costumed historic characters lead visitors along The Freedom Trail to 16 nationally significant historic sites, revealing stories about the people, the places, the events and the drama of the American Revolution, and sharing lively anecdotes about the vitality of contemporary Boston.

Along the Freedom Trail several of the historic taverns from the time of George Washington and the American Revolution are open to the public in downtown Boston. Next to Faneuil Hall and the popular Faneuil Hall Marketplace is Union Street, the location of the Blackstone Block. Here are America’s oldest restaurant and taverns: The Union Oyster House, the Bell In Hand Tavern and The Green Dragon Tavern.
