Travel Information for Michigan Hotel Guests

If you are searching for an inn, hotel, motel or resort near a Michigan attraction, amusement and theme parks, or close to shopping, cultural events, historic sites, museums and performing arts centers, or nearby zoos, a festival, a golf course, a Michigan state park, this is where you will find it.

MICHIGAN is awash with a variety of natural, man-made, and cultural offerings including aquariums, zoos, museums, galleries, lighthouses, waterfalls, natural rock formations, and wineries. It has a year-round collection of festivals and measures its great outdoors in these numbers: more than 3,200 miles of shoreline, 11,000 inland lakes, 5,600 miles of snowmobile trails, dozens of downhill ski resorts, four national parks, and more than 1,000 golf courses.

As it is home to Kellogg's, a family attraction like Cereal City USA should not be totally unexpected in BATTLE CREEK; Binder Park Zoo is also here. Located in the upper part of Lake Michigan, about 30 miles due north of Charlevoix, BEAVER ISLAND is one of the most remote inhabited islands in the Great Lakes and a travel destination of interesting wilderness characteristics.

BOYNE COUNTRY represents Petoskey, Harbor Springs, Boyne Falls, Boyne CIty, Conway and Wallon Lake areas of northwest lower Michigan where visitors can hunt for Michigan's state stone, the Petoskey Stone – chunks of fossilized coral thought to be 350 million years old; best hunting places are the beaches at Petoskey State Park and Magnus City Park.

CRYSTAL FALLS are more than 150 waterfalls across the Western Upper Peninsula, among them Bewabic State Park.

DETROIT has many outstanding attractions and venues that are "uniquely" Detroit' like the Motown Historical Museum which is located in the original birthplace of the Motown Sound and Motown Record Corporation, “Hitsville USA”, among the city’s magnets are the Museum of African American History, the Gospel Music Hall of Fame & Museum, and The Detroit Institute of Arts, the fifth-largest fine arts museum in the country.

HOLLAND is the largest Dutch community outside of Europe; the Netherlands comes alive at the Dutch Village Theme Park and its Windmill Island has cobblestone sidewalks, tulip-lined streets, wooden shoe factories and a 275 year-old "DeZwaan" windmill.

Located in Southwestern Michigan, KALAMAZOO’s main attraction is Air Zoo where there are aircraft ranging from a replica of the Wright Flyer to the F-14 fighter.

MACKINAC ISLAND is a picturesque summer resort still steeped in the 19th century and where the automobile has yet to intrude; Michigan history is resurrected and preserved in Mackinac State Historic Park at a string of three settlements: Colonial Michilimackinac, Fort Mackinac, and Historic Mill Creek which was established in 1790 as the first industrial settlement providing finished lumber to neighboring Mackinac Island.

Located in the Upper Peninsula region, MARQUETTE is home to the Marquette Mission Park and Museum of Ojibwa Culture, St. Ignace where visitors can learn about the Ojibwa Indians; the Isle Royale National park at Keweenaw, one of America's few island national parks, has over 165 miles of trails, and Keweenaw Underwater Preserve is host to a variety of historic shipwrecks.
