In NEBRASKA visitors find some of the nation’s most acclaimed attractions and events, from a world-class zoo to the world’s largest private collection of Americana to a 10,000-year-old unsolved mystery – plus museums, historical outposts, and otherworldly rock formations. There is boating, fishing and hunting, camping, canoeing, hiking, biking and horseback riding in its parks. In Nebraska's capital, Lincoln, the Historic Haymarket district, established in 1867, is filled with restaurants, shops and galleries.

Just south of Lincoln, BEATRICE is known for the Homestead National Monument of America which commemorates The Homestead Act of 1862 and the far-reaching effects it had on the landscape and people of the plains, and the Gage County Historical Museum. Buffalo Bill Scouts Rest Ranch State Historical Park is home to "Buffalo Bill" Cody.

Known for its outdoor rodeo, BURWELL also offers attractions such as the Fort Hartsuff State Historical Park, a restored 1870 plains infantry post, and the Calamus Reservoir State Recreation Area.

Attractions at The Big Game Capital of Nebraska, CRAWFORD, include the Fort Robinson Museum/Fort Robinson State Park with its trail rides, historic tours, outdoor recreation and stagecoach rides, the Hudson-Meng Bison Bonebed Enclosure, an active archaeological site with 10,000 year-old bison skeletons, and the Trailside Museum.

Just east of Scotts Bluff National Monument, a well-known landmark on the Oregon Trail, GERING offers many attractions including the North Platte Valley Museum, WildLife World, a natural History museum, and the Wildcat Hills Nature Center; the Farm and Ranch Museum is located just below Scotts Bluff National Monument.

At GRAND ISLAND A number of natural and historical attractions include the living history Stuhr Museum of the Prairie Pioneer, a turn-of-the-century "Railroad Town" with 60 original buildings on seven acres, and the Crane Meadows Nature Center and Interpretive Facility with seven miles of hiking trails and crane/wildlife exhibits.

KEARNEY is a small city with the look and feel of a Norman Rockwell painting; its attractions include The Great Platte River Road Archway Monument, the only museum that straddles an interstate highway and tells the story of the Platte River Road, the Museum of Nebraska Art, the Fort Kearny State Historical Park, the most important Nebraska outpost protecting thousands of westward bound pioneers during the middle of the 19th century; and the Trails & Rails Museum, located near the site where the original Mormon Trail passed.

LINCOLN offers a small-town ambiance with the amenities, attractions and entertainment opportunities of a metropolitan area from special childrens’ attractions such as the Folsom Children's Zoo & Botanical Gardens and the Lincoln Children's Museum to places for all the family, including the National Museum of Roller Skating; historical attractions include the Historic Haymarket District where antique stores, galleries, restaurants, unique shops and bookstores are housed in turn-of-the-century buildings in what used to be the warehouse/farmer's market section of the city; the Museum of Nebraska History, the Nebraska State Capitol, and the State Museum of Natural History and Mueller Planetarium.

MINDEN is home to the Harold Warp Pioneer Village with more than 50,000 historic items including 350 antique autos, an extensive collection of pioneer memorabilia tracing man's progress since 1830 displayed in 26 buildings.

NEBRASKA CITY is a bustling tourist center, widely recognised for its apple orchards, outlet shopping, and historic attractions including the Arbor Lodge State Historical Park and Arboretum.

A number of wildlife attractions at VALENTINE include the Valentine National Wildlife Refuge, and the 9,000-acre Fort Niobrara National Wildlife Refuge with abundant buffalo, elk, and Texas longhorn. Nebraska's national monuments and parks are famed: the Agate Fossil Beds on the Niobrara River and the surrounding prairie are preserved in a 3,000-acre National Monument, some 10 million years ago; hundreds of rhinos, three-toed horses, camels and other animals died and were buried by volcanic ash around the edges of a watering hole in what is now the Ashfall Fossil Beds State Historical Park; the 700-acre Eugene T. Mahoney State Park, overlooking the picturesque valley of the Platte River near Ashland, offers all-season outdoor recreation.
